Kevin Freiheit: Pommer letdown? - KevinJames
Has Pommer played for tean usa before?
If he does have dual citizenship, then the 1st country he played for (ie wjr) would be the country he would play for in the future as well or has that rule been changed. |

Correct. I don't think he can play for Canada |

The US has plenty of guys that can do what Pominville does, especially in a 2 week tournament. What the US needs are a couple more difference makers, of which Pominville isn't one. |

Yep,
Pominville played for the USA at the world championships a few years ago
So he can not play for Canada
It's pretty ridiculous that he wasn't invited to the camp
That's absolutely insulting |

would the sabres bring pommer back after this season for 3 years 15 mil total?
I think the only reason he was run out of town was due to the C on his jersey

There is nothing insulting about it as far as I can see, he is a soft player, very soft player, will play away from any sort of danger, yeah he has a good shot, will PK/PP, bla bla, but he is just too soft. |

That isn't the worst thing in the world. He still had skill so to me it wasn't like his lack of physicality got in the way of much. To me, the "soft" attribute is a lot more of blah blah than the good shot and pp/pk. If you were being sarcastic, then my bad, but if not I value his skill even if he is "soft". |

It would likely cost way more on the open market. That would really be hilarious if he walked from Minny and re signed here. |

I'm surprised, Pominville is a reliable goal scorer & special teams player. Luke Adam is good in Rochester. Maybe he's a late bloomer and there's still hope for him...... maybe??? |

When Adam was playing with Pommer and Vanek he looked great. He was shuffled when Roy was healthy and I think that messed him up. He was moved all the way to the 4th line in two weeks. Being passed over for Roy and Hecht did not help his psyche, I can guess. |
